It is unknown which magazine it was clipped from. The image is the same image as the UK release album cover. The original photo was taken on the grounds of Stone House, Rushlake Green in Sussex. The woman was David Gilmours (Pink Floyd) first wife, Ginger Gilmour. The Cord automobile Al Stewart is sitting in belonged to Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin). Doctor Strange is in the middle of the picture holding a mirror. He is hard to see in the black and white advertisement, but is much clearer on the album cover. Hipgnosis did the photography. They are the same group that did Saucerful of Secrets (Pink Floyd) that contained Doctor Strange. They also designed the famous The Dark Side of the Moon album cover along with many other famous covers for other rock bands. |
