The flyer lists ticket prices as $2.50 for students and $3.50 for all others. The concert sold out (4,500 tickets). Several hundred other fans crashed the gates to get in. The flyer depicts Dr. Strange opening what looks like a trap door and peering through with his third eye open. The artist is Tad Hunter, who was also known as San Andreas Fault. Tad was a well known concert poster artist in the 60s and 70s. Boz Scaggs (who was the lead guitarist for the Steve Miller band before leaving in the late 60s to pursue a solo career) was the most popular at the concert, doing five encores. The attendees didn’t want the headliner, Quicksilver Messenger Service to come on. Many of the attendees left when Quicksilver finally came on the stage. Before leaving, they had trashed the gym so heavily the next morning’s gym class had to be canceled. |
